Jodhpur: Amid the unabated instances of vehicles catching fire, yet another incident occurred in Jodhpur Sunday afternoon when a running SUV caught fire. The passengers of the vehicle, however, stopped the vehicle and managed to escape upon seeing smoke building in the vehicle.Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. However, by the time they arrived, the SUV was gutted and had to be removed with the help of a crane.According to the BGKT police, a Scorpio SUV was passing through the Pili Tanki on Bhagat ki Kothi Road at about 330pm on Sunday. “Suddenly, the passengers of the vehicle spotted smoke emanating from the AC vents. Apprehending risk, the driver immediately halted the vehicle, and both passengers came out of the vehicle,” police said.Soon after they rushed out of the vehicle, a fire broke out following sparking and engulfed the entire vehicle, triggering panic on the road as passersby stopped, fearing the danger of an explosion. Upon receiving the information, police and the fire tenders rushed to the spot and took control of the fire. However, almost the entire vehicle was burnt in the raging fire.
